The design stands out for its unique use of space. The basement floor, traditionally a closed-off area, has been transformed into an open, multi-functional space. Hollow-carved designs and mirror surfaces on the walls and ceiling extend the interior space, solving the problem of storey height and creating an illusion of vastness.
Rock materials, traditionally used for stone backgrounds, have been innovatively used for the dining tables and other areas. High-simulation green plants adorn the indoor space, adding vitality to the basement floor. This combination of natural elements and modern design techniques creates a refreshing and engaging environment.
The showflat spans three floors, each with a distinct height. The first floor stands at 3300MM, the second at 3000MM, and the basement at a towering 5200MM. This variation in height adds to the uniqueness of the design, creating a dynamic and intriguing space.
The design process was not without its challenges. The three-storey space and high basement posed issues of efficient space utilization. However, Xu Liu overcame these challenges by demolishing the original staircase and rebuilding it in a more open design. The staircase now connects the entire three-storey space, integrating them as a whole and becoming a highlight of the design.
The Feicui City Lower Stacked showflat is not just a design marvel but also a strategic marketing tool. The owner plans to advertise the showflat on print media and urban digital media to attract more customers, demonstrating the intersection of design and business strategy.
In conclusion, Xu Liu's Feicui City Lower Stacked is a testament to the power of innovative design in transforming spaces. The showflat, with its unique use of materials, open design, and strategic marketing potential, is a deserving winner of the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award. This design serves as an inspiration for future designers to push the boundaries of conventional design and create spaces that are not just aesthetically pleasing but also functional and strategic.
